Meet Mandala Artist Allen Davis
I began my love of art with the guidance from my mother, who was big on teaching her three sons arts and crafts from an early age. In high school, I began to pencil sketch, the world around me – tree branches, a pair of tennis shoes, or a beetle on the ground, for example.
I went to the university of Kentucky and graduated with a BS in Landscape Architecture. I believe my love of color began with the use of flowers in my garden designs. While in college, I experimented with mixed media art and my first paintings, mimicking Mondrian, and his color blocks.
Fast forward to 2008 when I began to get serious with producing art. Back then I used sandstone as a canvas and created mixed media pieces of angels and shamans with a Native American look. I bought art panels, a 10 x 10 pop-up tent, and traveled around Colorado selling at art festivals. In 2016 I transitioned to acrylic on canvas and truly settled into my artistic space.
